Setting Dispensing Fee for Specific Patients in the Pricing Tab
You can set the dispensing fee for Specific Patients by:
- Creating a pricing rule for a House Charge.
- Add the bill code to the Patient's 3rd Party tab for specific patients which will give them a different dispensing fee from regular pricing rules.
Creating a Pricing Rule for a House Charge
To create a variable pricing rule for a House Charge in PharmaClik Rx:
- Navigate to More > Pharmacy.
- Select the Pricing tab.
- Highlight the Pharmacy row at the top.
- Select the Add TP button. Third Party Search window opens.
- Search for and select House Charge.
- Select OK.
- Highlight newly added House Charge row. The Select Third Party Plan window opens.
- Select an appropriate House Charge.
- Select OK. The selected House Charge is added.
- In the Fee field, specify a fixed amount to be charged as a dispensing fee.
- When finished, select Save.
Example: In the example below, a pricing rule has been set up to charge a $15.99 dispensing fee—House Charge—House Charge 1 (HC1)—added to the patient's 3rd Party tab.
Adding the Bill Code to the Patient's 3rd Party Tab
Once you have created the pricing rule for a house charge, you can proceed to adding the bill code to the Patient's 3rd Party tab in PharmaClik Rx:
- Select the Patient button to search for and select a patient.
- Select the 3rd Party tab.
- Add the bill code based on the house charge selected for the pricing rule you created (e.g. HG):
- Select the Add button. The Third Party Plan Search window opens.
- Type full or partial information in any of the columns (Bill Code, Third Party Name, or Plan Name).
- Select Search. A list of third party plans matching your search criteria appears at the bottom of the window.
- Select the appropriate bill code.
- Select OK. The bill code is added to the patient's 3rd Party tab.
- If you do not want the house charge plan to absorb the cost of the prescription, set the following in the Third Party Detail section for the house charge plan:
- Deduct. type = Percent
- Percent = 100
- Rank the house charge plan as number 1 if you want the dispensing fee for the house charge plan to override the fees for any other third party plans. Please note, the house charge plan cannot be ranked before any government plans that must be the primary payor.
- Select Save.
